Story
I am doing the 3 Peaks challenge on 9th Sept 2017 and raising money for 21 Together, as they have really helped my family. I have attended some of their courses, as have some of the professionals working with my daughter.
The challenge involves climbing the 3 highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. These mountains are Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon. It includes around 24 miles of hill walking, seperated by 2 long drives. Each mountain has a round trip of 7-10 miles.
21 Together is a new charity run by parents with an aim to support people with Down’s syndrome, their families and the professionals working with them. With the funds raised they will be able to provide local, specific, educational and legal training on a range of subjects. This training will be for people who support a child or person with Down's Syndrome, such as parents, family members, carers, teachers, teaching assistants, speech therapists, occupational therapist's and physiotherapists.
