Story
On the 28th Feb I had to cease the trading of my baking business due to the extensive floods in York and since lockdown started I have received a reduced income. Mum is only in receipt of a small pension. I really missed baking so Mum and I decided to put the money we do have to good use.
’Lockdown Luxuries’ are small boxes filled with homemade Cakes, Traybakes, Biscuits and Scones - delivered contact free. These are gifted to local people to help bring a smile to their faces. Everyone is fighting to remain positive in these times. Having both suffered with varying degrees of poor mental health and anxiety over the years. We know how much small gestures can make a difference. What a pleasure it has been!
It costs approximately £50 a week in ingredients and as long are we are locked down we pledge to continue delivering our ‘Lockdown Luxuries’, however long that will be for.
We have realised that in order for this to continue it would be appreciated if anyone could help with either a small donation or supplying some of the more expensive baking ingredients such as butter. This is in the hope that we might cover some of our costs including fuel. This is by no means obligatory, like I say we will continue this regardless as we love the idea of paying it forward. We are hoping to expand on our deliveries including by post and hope that we can to respond to other peoples requests for a gift for their friends.
If I do exceed the amount, it will be donated to the charity ‘Mind’.
Thanks for reading. Lots of Love.
