Story

My ballet-mad 11 year old son, Logan has been lucky, and talented, enough to gain a place at the prestigious Royal Ballet School, one of the best ballet schools in the world. The Royal Ballet School auditions young dancers at venues across the UK, with nearly 1,000 young people competing for just 30 places. Logan started dancing at the age of 6 and has since shown a passion and love of ballet, joining the Royal Ballet School's Junior Associate programme in London. Logan will start at the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge in September 2020. He also won the ISTD Grade 3 National Ballet Awards in Crawley in March of this year.

Logan's mother, Becky, works as a Midday Assistant in a school and his father, Bruce, is a Tour Guide. Logan has a younger sister, Millie, who also does ballet.

A place at the Royal Ballet School costs over £35,000 per year. The Government’s Department for Education (DfE) offers UK students means-tested support through its Music and Dance Scheme. There is, however, a substantial sum that has to be met by parents, the grant does not cover all of the School’s fees nor items such as ballet shoes, uniform, music lessons or trips home. If you could support Logan realise his dream to train at The Royal Ballet School please donate through this page. Logan, and the family, will be eternally grateful for any support you can provide. If you prefer you can send money direct to the Royal Ballet School to be allocated to Logan’s account. To do this please e-mail finance@ royalballetschool.org.uk
