Story

Three More Weeks

I have written this song to not only try and cheer people up during these difficult times but also to help support two amazing local charities.

Why I chose these charities

I chose the Princess Royal Trust for Carers as sadly, last week I lost my Nan and this charity supported her enormously. The second charity I chose was Naomi House and Jacksplace. Last year I visited Jacksplace to sing for their mini festival 'Jestival' and I saw just how much the charity does for the young adults and how happy Jacksplace made them.

Information about the charities

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers

What they do -

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire is a charity that exists to support carers (unpaid loved ones, family members, friends and neighbours) across the county.

The work of the Trust is varied and is tailored to the needs of each individual Carer. Our focus is on giving Carers accurate and up-to-date consistent, high quality and timely information on anything from disability aids to benefits claims as well as emotional support, carer support groups and the Carers Hubs which act as one stop shops for information for carers. We also act as Carers’ advocates, liaise with Adult Services, GPs, and Hospitals and work in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions. The Trust offers a counselling service to Carers by way of qualified voluntary counsellors. All of the Trusts services are free.

With the current ongoing Covid 19 situation support for carers is even more vital as many opportunities for their loved one to attend a day centre or have some assistance in the home may have temporarily ceased and carers are worried about what will happen if they become unwell.

The Trust also facilitates The Emergency Planning Service which provides peace of mind to the Carers should they become unable to fulfil their caring role should an emergency arise. Our dedicated team will provide the Carer with support to discuss, develop and implement an emergency plan.  Once implemented, up to 48 hours care for the person they care for in the event of an emergency is put into place. For further information regarding any of our services please contact our Andover office on 01264 835246 or email: info@carercentre.com.

Naomi House and Jacksplace

We provide individualised care for over 600 life-limited and life-threatened children, young adults and much needed respite and support for the whole family through the good days, difficult days and last days. This care continues for as long as a family needs.
