Story
I have been trying to work out how best to tell Margaret's story, I wanted to show those who might not know her just want kind of person she is, and I believe this is best done through photos.
The first was taken on Thursday 26th January 2023, it shows Margaret and her daughter Zoe, toasting what is Zoes 30th Birthday. Later that evening Margaret uploaded this photo and several others from her day to social media. I'm sure to her friends and followers it would seem like just another one of Margarets many posts about her family.

However, only her family knew that just a few hours before this photo, in the company of Zoe and her husband John, Margaret was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma (GBM). As you can imagine this news was devastating, not only to those in the room but to her 3 sons, Conor, Cahir, and Kevin.
After the initial shock and upset, one of Margarets first questions was is it hereditary?, because as always her first thought is her children.
Then in what is typical of Margaret her positive outlook on life took over and she insisted on going for lunch with her daughter because in her own words " "you're only 30 once".

Margaret is under no illusion about the fight in front of her, to focus her energy she has divided it into milestones, her first was brain surgery on February 6th.

Despite the level of risk with this type surgery Margaret remained positive and determined to come through and as you can see from the photo below, she did just that.

Next up will be an intense course of combined chemotherapy and radiation, 5 days a week for 6 weeks.
This campaign has been set up to help support Margaret and her family in this fight and to ensure she has best possible odds. Margaret is also keen to use her story to raise further awareness around brain tumours and the need for increased spending on brain tumour research.
Both Margaret and her family are thankful for the treatment she has been able to receive, the continued support, well wishes and prayers from her many friends and family.
