Story

Introduction to the Kenward Kitties

My name is Mark and I work at premises located at Kenward Road in Yalding.

We have a small colony of six feral cats living in the grounds. Until recently they were fed every evening by a long term resident who has moved away. Because he left suddenly, no arrangements were made for the care of the cats. A couple of days after he left the cats were coming to the house every evening and meowing outside of his door. They were clearly distressed and hungry and so I started putting out food and water for them.

Where we are now

The cats are happy and healthy and very affectionate towards each other. They could not be re-homed because they aren't domestic pets and, anyway, it would not be kind to separate them as they have been living together communally for several years.

Myself and other individuals have been paying for their food for several months, but this isn't sustainable in the long term.

How you can help

The cats will not be able to continue to live healthy and happy lives without our help.

We can access subsidised veterinary care via the kind help of our local Cats Protection branch, but need to have funds in hand to pay for this if necessary.

We are also appealing for funds to ensure a long term supply of food for these beautiful animals.
