Story
We're fundraising to increase our production of Ear Protectors & Face Visors for the NHS. We've already got four machines hard at work printing this vital PPE, could you help us purchase more?
With a serious shortage of PPE in the NHS and our business closed due to COVID19 we've turned the machines that usually work in our model making workshop to producing these essential pieces of protection. However 3D printing is not a fast process and we need to increase the amount we can produce in a week. we also need essential cleaning products, the plastic for the machines as well as packaging materials.
Please consider giving any amount to help us reach our goal
Stretch Goals:
Each extra printer we purchase has the potential to increase our production. We're now making extra space for printers by moving equipment out of our Tearoom's Kitchen and the Gift Shop.
What are we doing?
We're printing Ear Protectors and the frames for Face Visors.
Who are we working with?
We're liaising directly with the Procurement Teams at Nottingham University Hopsitals and Leicestershire Partnership Trust Hospitals.
What do we usually use our printers for?
Our printers are based at the Soar Valley Garden Railway (Which is also our family home) where they are used to make parts for our trains and model villages. The railway teaches children (2yrs and up) to drive model trains.
In the past our printers have printed miniature street lights, railway signals, station signs, billboards, fences, furniture, spare parts, a working snow plow and even a diesel locomotive!
