Story
On 12th June Martin Ferguson is doing the 837 mile Lands End to John O Groats bike ride (LEJOG) in 4 days.
Usually this is done in 8-12 days. The world record being just short of 2. This is 240 miles most days. This is an enormous feat. Martin is cycling his socks off to raise money for 2 charities which he wants to support. The first is the local school church St Christophers in Lea and the second is the charity Silverline.
Why should you donate?
The Silverline is a charity which helps combat loneliness and provides support to older people in the UK. They receive around 10,500 calls every week from lonely and isolated older people; with 53% of callers saying they have literally no-one else to speak to. They provide this service 24 hours a day snd rely on volunteers and donations.
St Christophers church in Lea Preston is in need of repairs to ensure they continue to provide support to the local community. St Christophers hall is used by many volunteer and social groups, and the church provides regular events such as messy church, food markets during holiday times, and church services.
Money raised will be split 50/50 between the 2 charities and will make a positive impact on the local community. Please help if you can.
