Story
Ava aged 16 has just been accepted onto a Sporting Excellence Programme with England Handball. She is a pupil at Trinity Catholic Sixth Form in Aspley Nottingham studying 4 A Levels after achieving 8A's and 3A*'s in her GCSE exams.
She has just competed as part of the England Handball Under 16 National squad in an international tournament in Viborg, Denmark and is the first girl from Nottingham to do this. She has represented her school, Nottingham, the County, and is the first girl from Nottingham to be part of the England Handball Regional Academy and National Academy. She has also played for Notts County Football Club in a Premier League for Sports tournament and attended the U18 Team GB handball trials late last year.
She has travelled to Gdansk in Poland to participate in pre season training in preparation for the coming season and featured in the local paper as she was fortunate to play a local team.
Ava is currently a member of Nottingham Handball Club and not only studies and plays handball but has also dedicated her time to pass on some of her knowledge to a local Beavers group enabling them to earn their sports badge. She continues to visit the group with a hope to inspire the beavers to take up this sport.
Ava's dream is to be able to expand her knowledge in the sport and gain additional qualifications in coaching, refereeing and training others and compete as part of Team GB 🇬🇧 not only in youth games but also the Olympic Squad in the future. To do this, she needs your help to raise funding to help cover the training expenses, additional training sessions, accommodation, kit costs and travel expenses.
