Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my page. I am running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 8th, The Landmarks Half Marathon on 25th March 2018 and the Paris Marathon on 8th April 2018 in support of Tommy's. If I am lucky enough to get a place in the London Marathon I will also run in support of Tommy's.
They fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. We believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. We want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies.
This is my story.
In February 2016, Claire and I lost a baby during early stages of her pregnancy. We both have healthy children from our previous relationships and never once thought that we would have to try and recover from the miscarriage.
Our local hospital were amazing and offered good support. We couldn't understand why and felt it was something we had done.
We decided that we would not be beat and found strength to try again.
Claire fell pregnant the following month, we went back to the hospital for blood tests only to be told that it was highly likely that our baby would have Downs Syndrome.
Southend Hospital was trialing pre-natal tests with Great Ormond Street and after the worst ten day wait, we were given the all clear.
I am glad to say that on 17th December 2016, Claire gave birth to our 'Rainbow' baby Isabelle. She is now 9 months old today and perfectly healthy.
So why do I want to raise money for Tommy's. It is because I understand the need for research, training and support for families who have their lives devastated by the nightmare that is miscarriage.
I would be happy to know that if just £1 of our money helped fund someone else's rainbow baby success. It would be worth it!
Through Just Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. We will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
