A very dear friend if mine, Judith (not her real name), who has a spinal cord injury and has been bedbound for ten years, needs an operation in Southampton. The operation (a spinal cord stimulator), may be available soon, however we need to hire a suitable car to get her to Southampton, in order to have the operation, which previously went wrong. Judith lives in Norfolk, which is 200 miles from Southampton and she does not have a car of her own. Sadly, she cannot get any funding, so we are hoping that fundrasing will help. Judith will need to lie down in the car as her disability means she is not able to sit.

We are also looking to raise money for some medication pain relief, that used to be available on the NHS, but now is only available on private prescription, which is very expensive and Judith is finding it almost impossible to fund. 

Judith, who used to be a teacher for blind children, is a very kind and joyful lady, with a great sense of humour, a radiant smile and she never complains. She is in an awful lot of pain and would benefit greatly from the operation.
