Story

Six months ago Verity was born, 3 months early! Her twin, Annabelle sadly did not survive the very eary arrival. Verity was cared for at Singeton NICU for 12 long weeks and finally came home, on oxygen just shy of her May 30th due date. We are fund raising for Singeton NICU.

During her 12 week stay she received excellent medical attention from the doctors and nurses but not only this, we as her parents were also supported. Its a difficult and alien place to be and we would really like to thank everyone at Singelton NICU as without you we would have lost both of our beautiful daughters.

One thing I remember the most is the 'magic' blue reclining chairs which enabled me to hold my tiny, fragile baby for hours each day. Without these chairs it was very hard to have skin to skin comfortably. Unfortunately these chairs are super expensive and in short supply. I would like to help the unit buy another one (hence the taget of £1000) to help other parents and babies. Skin to skin or Kangaroo care is one of the most important things you can do as a parent to help your baby.

I will be taking part in 3 park runs (one for each month in hospital, 12 was far too many to contemplate!!). I am not a runner! Therefore this is a personal challenge and I will post progress updates. If you would like to help us raise money for Singleton NICU please donate via this page.

Alternatively we are also collecting baby blankets and baby towels to give to the unit, if you are able to help us please get in touch

Thank you

Menna, Rob, Keira (Big sister) and Verity
