Story

After battling with severe mental health since an early age, and becoming a stand in husband, father, son, financer and carer for a mother who snapped when my father walked out at the age of eleven, I’ve recently hit rock bottom. I am also waiting on a psychiatric assesment for suspected bi-Polar.

On the 14th of August 2017, I attempted to kill myself. I had 3 different ways of doing it which I’ve been very open and honest about in my self help blog Merely Marc .

As you can see I have dealt with a lot and it wasnt helped by my mother, who herself has her own mental health issues and an addiction to the ‘legal demon’ that is alcohol.

I have never felt so alone in all my life and still feel pretty similar. However there where two reasons I didn’t jump, overdose or slice harder that day and they are the only reason I believe I’m still here...

My boys (Alfie Reeves and Brent Goose) saved my life that day. Like my mother, these two also rely on me to survive, and even as my heart has been shatterd into pieces, these two kept it and still keep it beating.

I dont ask for help. I can barely accept it either, but the past few weeks I’ve been learning to ask and open to receiving. Feeling so alone and desperate I have been saved by what can only be described as a true superhero, who dropped everything and came from East Scotland all the way to Northern Ireland to rescue me and my boys and put a roof over our heads, all-be-it on a temporay basis.

So I’m here asking for help. Perhaps more for my boys than myself with travel costs, to bording kennels, pet taxi’s, even down to possible vet bills but right down to the basics of dog food also. I will happily go without before I let them starve.

Any help anyone can give will be more than generous, but even if my story itself reaches you or someone you know then I’m happy in the fact that I’ve helped you or them.

Love and light guys
