Story
As many of our family and friends are aware in 2016 we lost our beautiful son and daughter Mia & Leo.
For those of you who don't know our story it all started when I was 37weeks pregnant with my daughter and son Mia & Leo. In a short period of time I became gravely ill, the hospital I attended fell under the standard of care I should have experienced in at such a vulnerable time. I was transferred to another hospital when it was realised I was deteriorating fast. I spent nearly a month in ICU & the hospital and underwent a life saving liver transplant. Both my son and daughter were born sleeping at 37 weeks. My husband and family spent time with them before the funeral but it was two weeks before I had the oppurtunity. I will always remember there beautiful faces, holding them in my arms but a place to remember them would mean the world to me and so many others.
The condition I developed was acute fatty liver of pregnancy which only occurs in 1:10000. It is a condition were the liver cannot break down waste material so begins to shut down. The only know cure is delivery which came too late.
I have created this Just giving page to create a place in York where family, friends and other Angel parents can come together to celebrate the life and loss of all the angels. I would like to raise £800 to donate to Round Tree Park to get a engraved bench for Mia, Leo and angels friends. Extra funds I would like to use to set up a monthly meet for all walks of life who have expreienced the harrowing loss of a child. This memorial will be a place were we can truly take time out to heal.
I have not participated in any exercise since my transplant so in order to raise funds I have committed to the York 10k, I will most probably be walking but I will try my best to complete it, I have ongoing physio and appointments to help mend my body. It will be a long road to get in shape but having somewhere to feel closer to Mia & Leo and a place where others can visit is my inspiration.
