Story

Hi,

I'm looking to raise as much money as possible for the Neonatal Unit at the Birmingham Women's Hospital.

On the 7th August, Freddy (our little boy) was born two months premature and I can safely say that all the staff in the ward were nothing short of fantastic in ensuring that Freddy was well cared for, and was well enough to leave the ward earlier than expected.

All staff from Doctors to midwives to the cleaners worked tirelessly day and night and were so supportive toward my wife and I, including taking countless phone calls throughout the night just to check how our little man was getting on.

The staff never asked for anything in return and were phenomenal throughout. I would love to raise money to donate to this ward in recognition of all of their hard work. Not just with my son but the countless other children they have worked with over the years. To put it into perspective there were 45 other premature babies on the ward at the same time as Freddy.

To raise money, I will undertaking many different activities, to start off with I shall be completing the Sober October challenge. I do love a few ales at the weekend and a glass of wine of an evening, especially after a long day teaching, so to me this will be a real challenge.

Any donations will be welcome and I will pass all money raised over to the Neonatal ward on the 1st November 2017.

Thank you.

Michael
