Story
I'm raising £2,000 to be split equally between two fantastic charities.
This year, I've signed up to a personal challenge that honestly feels pretty ridiculous for someone like me... A 70.3 Ironman Triathlon, in Weymouth in September.
For anyone that doesn't know what that means, its breaks down like this...
1.2 mile open water sea swim
56 mile Bike Ride (Hilly)
13.1 mile of Half Marathon
All of this, back to back.
Being completely honest, I'm probably one of the most unathletic people around and not someone you'd ever put down as someone likely to give it a go.
But recently I've realised that sometimes the most important thing you can do, is just keep moving..
One step, one mile, one session at a time.
So.. Here I am.. doing it. Getting the training in slowly and being far to stubborn to quit.
I'm going to put myself through the pain of the 70.3 regardless of the fundraising, but I thought I might as well make something positive of the pain and suffering I'm putting myself through.
I'm raising money for two charities that do fantastic work.
Alzheimer's Scotland
Anyone who has seen the impact Alzheimer's can have on families, knows how important the work they really do is.
Cash for Kids - West Scotland
An Incredible charity helping disadvantaged children and young people, in the West of Scotland, who need the support the most.
Every mile covered, both in training and the race itself, will likely hurt and I'm under no illusion that this is going to be easy but knowing that I'm helping two charities by raising some money will keep me going when I need it most
If you are able to donate, even a small amount, would mean a lot, and if not a share or a bit of encouragement will definitely help me push through!
Thank you for your support, I'll keep the page updated with progress
Thank you
Mikey
