It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather Michael Zographos on 9th July 2021. He leaves behind his wife Chloe, daughter Christina, grandchildren Maria, Chloe, Angela, Rebecca & Dimitri and his 6 great grandchildren.

Michael was born and raised in Assia, Cyprus. He came to England in 1959 and within a few years met and married his wife Chloe & had 2 daughters.

Michael ran the well known Greek Bookshop Zeno in Denmark Street. Zeno Booksellers & Michael became well known in the Cypriot and Greek communities. He became an active figure in community associations and the Church, always striving to do his best and never forgetting where he was from. Zeno Bookshop was not only a business for him but his love for books and the literary world became a passion, hardly taking a day off in the 45 years he ran the shop until he retired.

But his greatest pride was with his family. He was always there for all of us, quiet and strong in the background making sure we were all ok. He will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Friday 23rd July 2021 at St. Katherine’s Church, Friern Barnet Lane, London N20 0NL.

As Covid restrictions have only just been lifted, all those wishing to pay their respects are welcome to join us at 2.30pm at New Southgate Cemetery, Brunswick Park Road N11 1JJ, where the wake will take place.

For those wishing to make a donation, we are setting up a Just Giving page as well as a having a donation box at the church & cemetery to raise money for St. Katherine's Church where Michael was a committee member for many years.
