Story
A TRUST fund has been set up by the family of Dr Sophie Williams to enable her to return to the home she shares with her partner Robert.
Sophie was on a field trip in China in July 2015 when she was struck by Japanese encephalitis. Her recovery from this brain infection has been remarkable - she still requires life support and is paralysed from the waist up but she is back presenting her work at international conferences via recordings and still has that lovely sparkle in her eyes.
Sophie's family and friends have established a trust to help support her with the hope that she can return to her home which will have to be extended and adapted.
"The house is in a wonderful location with amazing views. Everyime it is mentioned to Sophie about returning home her face and eyes light up." said her partner Robert
"It's up in the hills in North Wales with a fantastic view over Anglesey and Puffin Island. It's the community she helped form years ago, the community which has supported her incredibly in getting better".
"Getting Sophie back home will be tremendously beneficial to her recovery"
