Story
In March Mitcham Marlins was a fast growing swimming club, then lockdown hit, pools closed and everything changed. Plans for the future were built around the need for more pool space to accommodate our increasing numbers. The pandemic changed that dramatically. In five months we went from planning for the future, too fighting to survive long enough to see that future.
While our income has decreased, along with the amount of time our swimmers spend in the water, our costs have increased. Meanwhile, the club's cash reserves were used up ensuring all our swimmers could get back in the water and doing what they love.
The first lockdown cost the club in the region of £4000 which would have been used to fund future growth and training opportunities for our older swimmers. The club now requires an urgent injection of cash to steer it away from the tough times it's facing and back to the promising position it was in before.
With dedicated members and swimmers the club has the potential and energy to continue operating, growing and thriving well into the future. It just needs your support to help it through these challenging times and into a positive future.
