Story
The Golden Girls! 3 members of Momentum Taekwondo; Elisha Shaw, Emily Sutherland and Kirsten Barrett qualified to represent their respective universities at the EUSA Combat Games in Croatia in July by securing gold medal positions throughout the 22/23 BUCS Taekwondo Series. Due to their hard work and commitment to their sport they have earned the phenominal opportunity to compete in a high level international event. Unfortunately, it is a self funded competition estimated at £1000 per person, this includes accommodation, entry fees and flights. The golden girls of momentum Taekwondo need your help to get them to Croatia.
Elisha has been training in WT taekwondo for over 15 years, competing internationally for the last 6, and coaching for Glasgow University for 3 years! She is currently the reigning European Student Champion after securing gold at last years EUSA event, and is determined to retain the title, this time at a different weight class.
Emily has been training in taekwondo for the last 13 years but has only recently started competing again and loves it! She earned the opportunity to represent The University of Edinburgh by securing 2 golds at earlier BUCS competitions in the year. This was Emily’s 1st year competing in the BUCS taekwondo series and will be Emily’s 1st EUSA games - she’s really excited about going.
Only last year Kirsten started training in World Taekwondo after over a decade of ITF Taekwondo and kickboxing. It took quite a bit of adjusting but Kirsten finally found her feet during the 22/23 University BUCS league earning a place at the 2023 EUSA games. This is Kirsten's first and only chance to compete in the EUSA games, representing the university of Stirling, because she is graduating this year! Kirsten is looking forward to taking on whoever the games have to offer!
All three girls want to say a massive thank you for your support in their Taekwondo journeys and are detemined to bring home the bling!
