Rita (the horse) came into our care in October 2015 underweight and frightened, along with her 2 month old foal who we called Beau. After her rehabilitation it became clear that Rita was quite a special pony who was calm and did not react to loud noises or traffic. We have therefore decided Rita will be our driving pony who will take disabled people for rides around Holme Pierrepont, we need to raise enough money to buy a wheelchair friendly carriage. Dementia patients will benefit greatly with horse carriage therapy but as a charity we simply cannot fully finance the cost. Once the carriage has been purchased we will offer Ritas services to the community.
