Endcliffe Playgroup is a wonderful charity preschool at Hunter's Bar in Sheffield, charity number 1177333. It has been open since at least the 1970s, and over the decades has cared for generations of local children and helped them to grow and develop, learning through child-led play and supported by warm, nurturing staff. Our ethos, our amazing staff team and the great relationship between the setting and our community of parents really do make our Playgroup a very special place.

In April we found out that the lease for our current premises, where we've been meeting for decades, will not be renewed as of September 2021. We were devastated to think that our Playgroup might have to close after all this time. We turned to our neighbours, the 59th St Augustine's scouts, 2 minutes away on Botanical Road. The 59th have been really receptive to us moving in, and together we have compiled a list of work we will need to do to make the environment safe and inviting. Many of the jobs were already on the 59th's to do list, and the 59th are financing these. However some of the jobs will only benefit Playgroup so we will be financing these, namely;

- outdoor storage

- indoor storage

- a small gate to the side of the building

We are aiming to raise £3,500 towards the cost of these works. Every penny raised will go towards the project. Anything that is left over will be spent on new equipment – we would particularly love to buy a large sand tray and a large water tray.
