My Father was diagnosed with Terminal cancer almost a year ago and unfortunately he passed away 3 weeks later.

He wanted to be cared for in the comfort of his own home by his family with no medical assistance. There came a time when we were just unable to manage by ourselves so we had to call for the assistance of Dr Laura Gillan and the Coldstream and Greenlaw District Nurses. They helped us make his last couple of weeks more comfortable.

We could not have done it without them and they helped us care for him and respect his wishes by being cared for at home. The only thing that held them back was their lack of equipmemt e.g. wheelchairs with collapsible sides which would have made caring for my dad so much easier.

CGDN are a group of nurses in a small community and don't get very much funding from the NHS. We are hoping to raise some funds for them to help buy some much needed equipment like Wheelchairs, beds etc to help them care for people in their own home.

We are a team of 8 friends taking part in Total Warrior which is a 10k run over rough terrain with the added bonus of 30 punishing obstacles to tackle en route. This will be a great challenge for us all.
