We are Love Africa UK, a small in size but big in heart UK based non profit organisation. We have been working with local NGO's in Kenya and returned from there recently.

The disaster in Sierra Leone will have affected hundreds of lives that were living in extreme poverty to start with. Those that were lucky enough to have a home have lost it.

The worst-hit area is thought to be the Regent district on the outskirts of Freetown, where dozens of houses were submerged when the hillside collapsed at about 06:00 GMT.

At least 100 properties had been submerged and that some had collapsed after a section of Sugar Loaf mountain came down. Hundreds of people are still coming to the area to look for their loved ones.
