Story
Natalie is running 10 * 10KM in 10 days in support of Wakefield Whirlwinds and Able2 club providing sporting opportunities for young disabled people in the local area.
Wakefield Whirlwinds and Able2 club provide disability and wheelchair sports for young people in the local area.
Finding sporting opportunities for able bodied children isn't too difficult, but confidence building sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities are harder to find. Able2 and Wakefield Whirlwinds is a family club where siblings are encouraged to join in too. The young people love it!
We are growing in numbers which is fantastic, providing more opportunities for more children whom have been dealt the hardest of hands.
The hard work is done by volunteers. Equipment costs money to buy and maintain. Specialist sports equipment - like all disability equipment- is expensive - and we need to have chairs for the children to use
Currently we need new chairs for players and in particular some smaller chairs for the next generation to use.
Please help us to raise vital funds to keep the club going and continue to provide this confidence building sporting opportunity to young disabled people.
We have raised £360 so far from our initial efforts but we really need to get up to £2000 to make a difference to these young people by buying the expensive equipment required ... your support would be very much appreciated.
