Story

I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia back in October 2015, right after my birthday and just before me and my wonderful wife got married. The first year of treatment was not too bad. had a few issues with the bone marrow procedure which caused me to be in a lot of pain and severe bruising but other than that all was going well. I continued to run my own maintenance business and all was good.

Then early 2017 my body became tolerant to the medication and my specialist had to change my ceamo meds. Unfortunately within 3 weeks i was off work because the side effects were so severe. I was suffering with severe fatigue and starting to get issues with my mobility. We have now had to move out of our 4 bedroom house with our boys into a 2 bed bungalow as i am just unable to manage stairs anymore.

Due to my mobility issues i am unable to walk any sort of distance and require a wheelchair but i'm a big bloke (6'4" and 25 stone) and my wife suffers badly from asthma which means she can't push me for very long. It also means that i can only go round shops etc with someone with me.
Unfortunately due to the pain in my joints and muscles I am unable to self propel myself very far at all before the pain in my arms and shoulders gets too much.

We have had help from the British Legion as i am Ex forces and have been able to get a mobility scooter which i can use around my home village but it is just way too big to fit in the car if we go out for the day as a family anywhere.

I have looked around at different types of chair that will fit and be strong enough to take my weight. The only one i have been able to find is £2,997.60 inc vat and due to me being unable to work now there is no way we could raise that sort of money without help. Hence our plea.......,.
