Story
Hi everyone!
I've decided to attempt running the Folkestone Half Marathon for Charity on September 24th, with only completing a Half Marathon once before I hope to try complete this within 2hrs 10 mins.
I will be splitting equally any donations gratefully received.
The first will be to raise some deserved funds for a family that are close to us.
Our friends have a son Oliver who is 6, he has been friends with our son Jack since birth. 💙
Oliver beat Rhabdomyosarcoma - a rare cancer that counts for just 3% of all childrens cancers. Oliver is an inspirational boy who at such a young age has dealt with more than most adults and done so with a smile on his face.
Oliver was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS) in November 2012 at the age of 15 months. Following surgery to remove a tumour and 9 courses of chemotherapy, his parents thought the nightmare was behind them and celebrated his 2nd birthday in style. Less than 7 weeks later, they received the devastating news that the cancer had returned but Olly fought again and beat it.
Olly is currently undergoing more treatment to battle this evil disease for the 3rd time with a cheeky grin and an army of supporters known as "Oliver's Army'. He is such a brave young man. 💙
The funds raised will help Oliver and his family take the trips that are on his 'bucket list ' which include seeing the Eiffel Tower, going on a London Duck bus tour & visiting Disneyland.
All other donations will go to Cancer research to try & stop this indiscriminate disease once & for all.
Thank you for reading xx
