Story

58 swimmers from across the county of Cornwall, have been training up to 50000 metres per week, in order to get fit for the ultimate warm weather training camp in Feuteventura coached by double Olympian Jemma Lowe and 2012 olympian Tom Haffield.

This camp will push swimmers to complete 80,000 meters in 7 days as they prepare for the swim gala season starting in November. The swimmers have been looking forward to the camp and have been fundraising to help their parents pay for the flight and accomodation. Unfortunately, it would seem that their dreams will be crushed as they were booked on Monarch flights which have gone bust. These children give every spare minute of their time. They don't sit in front of the TV or video games, they train!!!

Jemma says, 'In my swimming career, I've been very lucky to have the experience of going to the Olympics, twice! They were amazing, but since retiring and coaching on training camps, I've seen how important swimming and training away, is, to some of the younger kids. They just grow before your eyes and make lifelong friendships. This camp is so important to the swimmers across Cornwall and will provide unforgetable memories.'

Some of the swimmers are national Champions and have represented England and Great Britain and some have just started out in their swimming career. All have a great love for the sport of swimming and they are so dedicated, training before and after school and competing at the weekend.

Please help our future Corrnish Olympians on the path to representing their County, Region and country. Give what you can.

Thank you
