Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page. We, are undertaking the 999 challenge to raise funds for Outreach Paramedics, who are taking and donating ambulances to Ukraine.

The 999 Challenge

On the 19th November we will be undertaking a challenge that we've come up with, called the 999 Challenge. It comprises of :

- Nine firefighters, dressed in full firefighting kit- including breathing apparatus (in total weighing over 30kgs)

- Racing nine miles back and forth over the Tamar bridge

- In under nine hours.

This will no doubt be a huge physical challenge given the weight of our fire kit and breathing apparatus, so if you can spare a donation to make our pain worthwhile, we would really appreciate it!

Why have we chosen to support Outreach Paramedics?

The fire service in Ukraine co-respond, meaning that, in addition to normal fire service duties, they also respond to medical emergencies using ambulances. Medical aid, and in particular, emergency ambulances are desperately needed in Ukraine right now. Innocent lives are being lost daily, because there just aren't the resources available to deal with the casualties of a war. So we would like to show our support to the Ukrainian fire service in some way. Our friends and neighbours over at Outreach Paramedics are fundraising for ambulances and medical supplies for the fire service in Ukraine, and so we have decided to raise funds to help them do that. They have two ambulances that are nearly ready to go (they are just being serviced and safety checked) and we would like to help pay for the cost of transportation to Ukraine. Any funds in excess of our target will go towards purchasing more ambulances for Ukraine, which will go out in subsequent missions.
