Story
My name is Mick Roden. I am a lifelong supporter of the Iron since the 50's & what Michelle Harness with the new board and her team have done to save our club from extinction this last few months has inspired me to try to help raise money for our club.
I'm 75 years old and a keen cyclist and over the next 5 years (my fitness balance and strength permitting) I am hoping to cycle 100 Tour De France iconic mountain climbs completing 20 climbs a year.
Total altitude gain will be over 77,000 metres which is the equivalent of cycling up and down Mount Everest Over 9 times so this is a massive challenge for me!
I have been helped and coached by Steve Clarke Offthatcouchfitness.
I am hoping, with your help, i can raise over £1000 each year for our Scunny Utd. I will take a photo at the top of each climb with Scunny Bunny.
I start this adventure on 29 May travelling down through France to the Massif Central Range in my Motorhome.
I shall travel down again in late August to the Pyrenees to complete a further 10 climbs.
Cycling friends will be joining me over the next five years.. if you fancy joining me PM me on Facebook! #UTI Thanks Mick
