I have supported this wonderful shelter for many years now and have recently spent some time there, giving my time freely to help in the shelter and care for some of the many dogs there. However, I want to do more so, ON THE 7TH OCTOBER I WILL BE TAKING PART IN THE MEN'S HEALTH SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST 10KM CHALLENGE IN NOTTINGHAM which will potentially break me both mentally and physically but along with others I am determined to do this to help raise money for this fantastic cause. I appreciate money is tight but would appreciate any donation possible - it will be put straight into the charity and make a real difference.

The Souda Shelter Project is a community who are dedicated to caring for and rehoming the many dogs that have found themselves in their care after being abandoned. A high number of the dogs have spent a good portion of their lives in this shelter, rather than a healthy environment.

The Souda Shelter Project has made it a goal to care for the dogs in the shelter, rehome the dogs residing there and eventually close the shelter which is in poor condition with the intention of establishing a new shelter in the future which would provide a safer environment for all the animals that may need a safe environment in the future.

There are a few dedicated staff members who work permanently at the shelter and for them the work is relentless and conditions are poor, often in summer working in 42 degree weather to care for the dogs there who have been abandoned or mistreated. The shelter is of limited funds which they have to raise themselves and they are reliant on volunteers to make up workforce numbers, who give their time in helping at the shelter with the work and care of the dogs there.

I am looking to raise funds to help with the work in caring for the dogs there who all deserve a safe environment and a chance to be re homed into a happy family environment. The help provided in the country is not the same as in some other places so any donation, no matter how small would make a huge difference in helping the dedicated staff in there work there.
