I am running the Oxford half marathon to raise money for two causes: firstly, the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust, a wonderful charity which supports people who have had spinal cord injuries once they get home. It is a charity I feel great sympathy for after my mother was left paralysed in a car accident. Secondly, I am raising for the Oxford University Wind Orchestra tour to America. I have been lucky enough to play the clarinet with the orchestra for the last year. The tour is a powerful and exciting way to build links between our two nations and to immerse ourselves in the incredible wind orchestra tradition of the US.
