Story
Pip has battled hypermobility since birth, as she has reached her teens her chronic pain has become increasingly debilitating. This has been difficult for her to accept mentally as well as limiting her mobility and activity.
Earlier this year she was prescribed a self propelling wheel chair which has turned her world around- it allows her to live life to the full. Accepting the chair was a huge step towards independence.
As a keen Scout Pip throws herself into many outdoor activities and we have found that pushing the NHS chair across grass, gravel, mud and uneven surfaces is incredibly difficult for us all and almost impossible for Pip to do herself.
Recently we have found a range of lightweight electric wheelchairs which we think will be ideal for off road and adventurous activities- the down side is the price tag. Pip gets no benefits to help with resourcing her disability and we cannot afford to buy it ourselves... we are of course saving, and wondered if any of you may have a few spare pennies to add to the pot?
