Story
In Myanmar the humanitarian situation has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. If like myself you have been following the news and watching the crisis and atrocities the Rohingya community are facing, you will know it's a hard watch!
Imagine waking up to find you have no home, no food, lost members of your family and furthermore have no where to escape to. As of 3 September 2017 an estimated 87,000 people have reportedly crossed from Myanmar to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. As many as 14,000 have crossed the border in the last 24 hours alone, joining thousands more who have recently fled the ongoing violence. Many are still trapped in Myanmar and have no food, shelter or medical care. The elderly, pregnant women, young children and even those with disabilities are all enduring these unbelievable circumstances.
Access for aid agencies is limited but Muslim Aid is on the ground, providing emergency help to thousands. Many of those escaping the violence are from the Rohingya, an ethnic minority of around 1.1m Muslims. Refugees in Bangladesh urgently need water, food, sanitation and shelter.
Help me raise money with Muslim Aid for this cause especially as winter approaches, the situation will turn from bad to even worse. So please donate generously and help save lives!
We are also organising a charity fun day event with Muslim Aid on Sunday 22nd October 2017 at the Pakistani Community Centre in Longsight, Manchester from 12pm to 5pm. This event will include stalls, food, games and an aunction. The sole purpose is to raise funds for the people of Rohingya at this truly tragic and terrifying time they face. So please come support us on Sunday 22nd October 2017 or donate on the page today! Either way please donate and help this worthy cause.
