Story

Richard Carter will be celebrating his 25th anniversary to priesthood on Sunday 26th November 2017. A group of volunteers from St Martin-in-the-Fields is planning a series of initiatives to mark this significant milestone and we hope for your support.

Richard was ordained priest in the chapel at Tabalia in the Solomon Islands. He became a brother and lived and worked as a teacher and chaplain there for over 15 years. He lived and tended his community through the tragedy when the seven brothers were brutally killed. He made a huge impact on the brotherhood, particularly through writing many dramas, which were then toured extensively on mission in Solomon Island and internationally. Since 2006, bringing the community's spirit of service, humility and mission, Richard has had an extraordinary ministry at St Martin-in-the-Fields over 10 years - inspiring many of us to find and love God more deeply, especially alongside those on the edge of society.

Richard keeps bringing to life, for us, the vision of the Brotherhood. His ministries and stories inspire us in finding the courage to explore our vocations, to bring Good News for all, locally and universally.

To celebrate his ministry, initiatives we are organising include a donation to St Martin-in-the-Fields International Group, a contribution to his holiday fund, as well as various creative tokens and events. Find out here how you can get involved! (We will provide detailed report of fund allocation to donors. See rough budget here.)
