I've raised £2500 to provide Personal Protective Equipment for key workers in local care homes.

Hi, I’m Rishi, I am a key worker working every day as a frontline Pharmacist.
I felt compelled to take on this fundraising challenge after hearing about the actual death rate in care homes and also from speaking to the key workers on the ground.
All funds raised will be used to buy Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for those working face-to-face day in, day out, putting others first. PPE is essential to safeguard key workers and also care home residents.
So for the month of May I plan to run the equivalent of a marathon each week - 26.2 miles/42.2 km each week! This will be a total of 104.9 miles or 168.8 kilometres over the month! I enjoy running but usually just 5-10km, I have never ran this kind of distance and have certainly never ran a marathon, let alone 4 in a month! I will be running before work and will of course be observing social distancing guidelines as I run.
The plan is to distribute the PPE purchased with the funds raised evenly amongst 18 care homes. They are 11 Borough care homes in Stockport, Priestnall Court (Heaton Mersey); Abbeyfield House (Bramhall); Chester House (Hazel Grove); Redford court -The Disabilities Trust- (Liverpool); Hartrigg Oaks (York), Wilberforce Trust (York), and Rosegarth (York).
If anyone is reading this and is on the front line, or knows somebody that is and needs PPE then contact me directly - if I can help I will.
Please sponsor me to complete this running challenge and raise valuable funds so that we can help protect people working and living in care homes.
You can track my progress and see how many miles I rack up each week on this page and on our Facebook pages (ScorahChemist, PakersPharmacist and ClearChemist).
Thank you in anticipation of your kind donations, however big or small, they all add up to another item of PPE to protect key workers and the vulnerable.
Best wishes
Rishi
