Story
I'm running the Chelmsford Marathon on Sunday 22nd October for "FACK" - Families Against Corporate Killers on behalf of my late Father-In-Law - Ray
Laura and myself have pretty much been together since school and two years after we married Laura tragically lost her Dad "Ray" in a work place accident in 2010. This came as a huge shock and it was a very difficult time for us both but in particular Laura who was assisted and supported endlessly by "FACK" and that is who i'm hopefully going to raise a few pounds for.
Although Laura and her Mum had limited contact with the Police, HSE and a Solicitor, throughout the whole process it was FACK who guided them and provided crucial help and advise on what was happening and to ensure that they sought justice for Ray.
Having retired from playing 1xv Rugby the season before last and all in all having played rugby for 25 years i needed a new challenge and i thought i'd tick off running a marathon which i'll be honest has always been on my bucket list.
Now those of you who know me well know that this doesn't come naturally to me or indeed anyone else of 17st stone! I have pretty much spent my whole playing careers in the dungeon pushing my head between "Peachy's, Quinny's and Big Show's" back side so i'm having to train very hard and I'm determined succeed in a reasonable time.
Any donations will be gratefully received.
Cheers Rob
