As most of you know, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl in November last year. We found out the day after Roxy was born that she had Down Syndrome which at the time seemed scary as it was something we knew very little about. We now realise that there was nothing to fear and our amazing little Miss is doing just great. There are however, a few challenges to face along the way where Roxy needs a little extra help reaching some of her developmental milestones, one of them being speech.

Roxy started having speech therapy through Symbol UK from the age of six months, as the earlier you can start, the better.

Symbol UK has been in existence, on a not for profit basis, since 1998 and employs approximately 50 speech and language therapy staff working predominantly across the South East of England.

Symbol's specialist speech and language therapy services have supported children, young people and adults with speech, language and communication needs in a variety of settings.

I shall be running Bright 10 (Brighton & Hove 10 mile race) on Sunday 15th October 2017 in order to raise funds for Symbol UK. We would be extremely grateful for your support!
