Story
In November 2016, Jas was involved in a tragic car crash which, sadly, claimed the life of her mother and badly injured her older sister too.
Jas, herself, suffered life threatening injuries and was immediately airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital where she battled hard against severe traumatic brain injury, a C1 avulsion fracture, a bilateral orbital wall fracture, splenic laceration and left renal laceration, a right pulmonary contusion, a post traumatic hydrocephalus and right ventriculo-peritoneal shunt insertion, a craniotomy and insertion of a intracranial pressure bolt, severe spasticity and feeding difficulties.
Ever since, Jas has shown what a true fighter she is and after a few months in Birmingham she moved to Surrey to continue her rehabilitation with The Children's Trust through specialist care.
I have been Jas' class teacher since January 2016 and I wanted to do something for Jas so I will be running the Cheltenham Half-Marathon in October 2017, my first ever attempt at a half-marathon or, to be honest, any sort of long distance run aside from a 3k I did just after Uni in 2010!
Jas' dad, Tony, has given up so much to be by Jas' side since the crash and has been a rock for her in this difficult time. I want to raise money to be given to Tony so he can spend it on something to benefit Jas. This could be on some specialist equipment at home, it could go towards some physiotheraphy sessions to help her maintain her recovery or it could simply go towards a family holiday where Tony can take his girls away and spend some precious time together.
If you could find the smallest donation to this cause it would be fantastic and I thank you in advance.
