Story
The Northern Footpath Forum are a group of local people representing the villages to the north of Peterborough in the Welland Valley.
Our aim is to connect people in the villages by safe footpaths and bridleways. This will encourage people to walk more and discourage us from getting out our cars for short journeys.
In 2013 we were lucky enough to get some funding from Natural England to develop a footpath linking the busy Deeping Road with the Welland riverbank. Our next stage is to cross the river.
We are working closely with Deeping St James Parish Council to raise funds to build a footbridge connecting communities on both sides of the river giving safe and easy access to the local Nature Reserve at Deeping Lakes.
We need to raise £6,000 as our contribution towards funding the construction of the bridge. We hope this will show potential funders that people in the community support our project.
If we are unsuccessful in obtaining a grant we will refund all contributions where you have given us your contact details.
With your support we aim to build the bridge in 2017.
Thank you.
