Story
In 2018, Keynsham Parish linked with the parish of Chipata South, Eastern Zambia. The churches pray regularly for each other, exchanging news and messages, building understanding and friendship. Now it's time to express our friendship in practical terms as well. There are not enough schools in Zambia, not enough funding to provide every child with good quality primary education. So the people of Chipata South are embarking on an ambitious project, to build a new 2-classroom Church Primary School, which will benefit many children in Chipata. Much of the practical work they will do themselves, but we can all help with fundraising some of the money that is needed to build the new school.
The GOOD NEWS is that a considerable amount of funding having has been secured. The charity Hands of Compassion (www.handsofcompassion.org.uk) has agreed to award a grant to St Paul's Church in Chipata South. Their vision is to give hope to children in Zambia.

Our task now is to raise £7000. Pre -Covid we made a lego model of the school plans with the hope we could build up the school model together, by 'buying' a brick and then adding it to the model. We can't do this right now unfortunately but the updated model will be in church and we will show progress pictures of it. Once allowed the model of the school will make be making its way round the different churches. If you are able to donate something, we can add more lego bricks to the model and bring the real school in Chipata South closer to reality. We understand times are difficult for a lot of people. But if possible, let us try to give hope to children in Zambia. Thank you very much.
