Katy is 29 years old and mummy to her beautiful son Oliver.
In November 2016 she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Katy and Olivers world fell apart. Her family are devastated.
The word you wish never to hear CANCER. Katy was diagnosed at stage 2b. It was aggressive and she bravely began intense radiotherapy everyday (Monday-Friday ) for 5 weeks. Having chemotherapy running alongside.
Katy became very ill during treatment. She lost a lot of weight but hoped it would be enough to get rid of the disease and look forward to a future with Oliver.
Katy finished treatment 3 months ago and then went in for scans to see if the treatment worked. She waited nervously for the results. Praying it was what she wanted to hear.
The heart breaking news came only few weeks ago Katy's treatment didn't work and the tumour has grown pushing on her kidneys bladder and bowel. There is no operation that can be offered. There is no cure. She was told chemo was an option to prolong her life.
Katy and her family are numb with the news. It doesnt seem real that there is nothing more they can do. Katy is taking the chemo option to enable her to have as much time as possible with her little boy Oliver.
Making memories, day trips, visits, mini breaks can be expensive. We are hoping we can lighten the burden and help raise funds to enable Katy and Oliver to create many memories in the precise time they have left together. It will enable Oliver to cherish memories of his beautiful Mummy. If circumstances were to change all monies will be put into a trust for Oliver for when he is an adult. This will enable Katy to have peaceful of mind knowing Oliver has something to help him start his adult life x
