Story

As the mother of 3 boys in the battalion i know first hand how imporant these care packages are, we aim to raise £5000 to send 250 boxes (1 for each soldier deployed).

Having recently deployed on Operation Rescript, the British Army’s response to COVID-19, establishing and maintaing Covid Testing Stations across the UK; soldiers from 2nd Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment, nicknamed the Poachers, will now deploy to Mali, Africa on Operation Newcombe, as part of the United Nations Mission, in May 2021.

The Poachers, many from Lincolnshire and the local area, will be offering up reconnaissance expertise to the operation. Those deploying will be expected to operate up to 150km from the base for up to 3 weeks at a time. They will be posted to Mali for 6 months and due to the ongoing, glibal Covid-19 pandemic, the chance of much needed rest and recuperation during the tour is unlikely.

Money raised will go towards items for care packages to be sent to soldiers who are deploying on operation.

Care packages deliver a welcome piece of home and much needed essentials to solidiers while they‘re away. Theses parcels enhance the morale and well-being of the deployed troops by providing much needed hygiene products, reading material and treats.

Please help us support our troops who sacrifice so much, especially during these difficult times.
