Cosmo is our brave little heart warrior, who happens to have a bit extra in the chromosome department. He was born on 29th August 2014 and he was diagnosed post natally with Down Syndrome, and an Atrioventricular Septal Defect (hole in the heart). When he was 3 months old, he had open heart surgery, at Great Ormond Street Hospital, to repair his AVSD.

Now nearly 3 years on, from birth and from surgery, he is doing so well with most areas of his development, however at nearly 3 he is in need of Speech and Language Therapy. He has just completed a block of 6 biweekly sessions with a private SaLT company, and the change we've seen in just that small amount of time is amazing! Because we've seen progress in Cosmo's singular words and new sounds, we want to be able to give him the opportunity to thrive and be able to communicate with us via speech, by funding another 5 blocks of 6 sessions for him!

Cosmo has already been through so much in his little life, and he has proved many wrong with what he can and can't do. He is determined and wants to learn, and this Mummy and Daddy will be with him every step of the way.
