Rhys spent the early years going to circuits around the country with his Dad to watch his Granddad drive in the Mini Challenge Championship. The journey home was all about how one day Rhys wanted to drive on the track. During 2016 Rhys started driving indoor karts and was successful and managed to achieve lap records and was invited to drive in the centre academy. This proved very successful with podium finishes as well as a couple of wins. Following on from this success, at the end of 2016 Rhys was offered the opportunity of some test drives with kart racing team Racing Perfection. After some positive drives Rhys was offered a drive with the team for the 2017 season. The aim for this season was to just get round and learn some race craft whilst obtaining his novice licence. Rhys managed to not only obtain his novice licence but to also get his full licence with some very fast and positive drives. This has come a lot faster than both Rhys and the team expected and although has been very pleasing it has caused an issue with moving forward. As Rhys has progressed so quickly it is imperative he keeps the momentum going with additional coaching and additional seat time to allow him to achieve the level's the team and his coach feel he is more than capable of. This comes at a cost, so we are reaching out to friends, family, racing enthusiasts and local business to help us give Rhys the best opportunity to achieve his dream and fulfil his early potential.
