Story
Liverpool City Council's planning committee recently approved an application for the construction of two additional hazardous chemical waste towers at Garston Docks, notwithstanding the thousands of local objections received in respect of the application. The original application for two original towers was approved by Liverpool City Council 3 years beforehand without consultation with local residents nor discussion or consideration at a planning committee meeting - they quietly approved a potentially dangerous development without proper due legal process. As such, L19 Action Group has been established to hold the local authority and all other interested public bodies, private organisations and other relevant stakeholders accountable to ensure the promotion and maintenance of a safe, healthy and green local community for many generations to come. Contributions raised to date have gone towards exploring and obtaining legal advice to consider legal action to prevent the application proceeding. However due to a lack of time and funds and based on expert advice received, L19 Action Group has decided to focus efforts going forward on other strategies to support our aims. There will be public meetings soon in order to provide additional information as to how best to take the campaign forward. All contributions raised will (less de minimus Just Giving fees) go towards supporting the campaign, raising awareness, providing information and ultimately creating long-lasting positive change for our local communities. Thank you for your valued support.
Please do kindly support with worthwhile cause now and do share with as many other people as possible - together, we can create long-lasting positive change for the better.

However the campaign continues and there will be more information shared soon as to the strategy going forwards. Thank you for your continued support.

L19 Action Group
3 months agoA massive thank you to everyone who has supported L19 Action Group so far (including one supporter who has contributed £5,000 anonymously which is in addition to the £1,924 raised so far). We have obtained favourable expert legal advice and are now considering our options. Legal advice and legal claims cost money and therefore we would kindly urge you to continue to contribute as much as possible and to share this with as many people in South Liverpool and beyond. Thank you for your love and support.
