Story
I have created this page in memory of my friend, mentor, guru - Sarveshwar Sharan (Suryaji).
Suryaji was a Hindu Priest at the Glasgow Hindu Mandir and was truly loved by all. He is survived by his wife Adrishtha Gautam and his two young sons, Kartike and Chaitanya.
He was on a yatra (religious pilgrimage) and sadly passed away during this trip. Suryaji, as he is fondly called, was only 43 years old.
His loss will be felt for generations to come, as he epitomised the spirit and energy that radiated throughout the Hindu Mandir. I can't express the loss we and the community feel. He had a way of making you feel like family. He loved to tell religious stories and was always eager to help. He helped the community so much and wanted everyone, young and old, to be involved.
He had a deep belief in God and the Hindu Mandir was his passion. He had been on many pilgrimages before and encouraged people of all ages to take part.
The community has expressed interest in helping his family, financially, during this extremely difficult time.
There isn't a set amount in mind that we would like to raise so would ask all to donate what they can. No amount is too little or too big. Please simply give with love and your blessings.
Senior Hindu committee member Vinod Sharma is aware of this page, after consultation with him, this was created.
All funds minus just giving charges will be passed to Adrishtha and her two sons. If you work and pay tax then please tick the gift aid box.
Thank you for your support in advance.
