I've raised £100000 to Build and run a Sustainability Cookery School in the Gambia

Exciting Update: We’ve Purchased the Land for the Cookery School! 🎉
We’re thrilled to share that, thanks to your incredible support, we have now successfully purchased the land for our Sustainability Cookery School in The Gambia! This is a huge milestone in our journey to empower communities with sustainable skills in cooking, agriculture, hospitality, and tourism.
Now, we’re focusing on the next exciting phase—raising funds for the construction of the school, which we aim to begin towards the end of this year. With your continued generosity, we can turn this vision into reality and create lasting opportunities for young people and their communities.
Every donation brings us one step closer to making a meaningful impact. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
What are we raising money for?
Waste to Wonder Worldwide are a Social Enterprise and charity (Reg 1099665) that support education around the world through our pioneering School in a Box programme. By redistributing office furniture and equipment from corporate customers we have equipped over 1400 schools in 40 countries and deliver some amazing sustainability results – each year diverting thousands of tonnes of equipment from waste and preventing 6,000,000 of CO2 emissions through reuse.
The Sustainability Cookery School programme was inspired by a recent visit to the Gambia where we witnessed first-hand the impact that Solar Bore Wells have for food and water sovereignty and how rapidly we can expand on the social impact of the school in a box project through our exciting new Sustainability Cooking School Initiative. The programme pulls together 20 years of experience in delivering educational opportunities around the world, the immediate alleviation of significant issues that a lack of safe drinking water causes, and tackles one of the biggest humanitarian issues outlined by the UN, that of food safety and sovereignty, all issues that are magnified in an age of global warming.
