Our Castle in Tarbert Argyll has a rich Royal history. Robert the Bruce repaired and expanded the castle in 1325. The community have stabilised the ruins and openned up the site to the public with paths and interpretation. We are now ready to explore further with a community Archaeological dig assisted by experts who will train volunteers including young people from schools and youth groups. We hope to reveal more of the ruined structure's original form and early history even before King Robert the Bruce realised its strategic importance. www.tarbertcastle.info
