I've raised £2500 to Tart up Tavistock

Tart up Tavistock is a idea and vision & most importantly action plan to spruce up our local community. The cosmetic state of our town is in dire straits. Signs need to be refurbished, pot holes need filling, weeds need to be dug out & gates / fences & benches need maintenance.
This is why I have decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in August this year. I have taken up running this year and have never entered a competitive race before.
Having been making use of the local running and walking routes around Tavistock in recent months I have decided something needs to be done. As a Town Tavistock prides itself on image, locality and it's ancient history. Tavistock is a true historical landmark and a very important location dating back to the Civil War.
Gateway to Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage sites. Straddling the fast flowing river Tavy, below the western edge of Dartmoor, Tavistock stands in the heart of an area of tremendous natural beauty and is a classic West Country Market Town
I care deeply about Tavistock. My family originate from Tavistock for generations of past. My 3 younger siblings all grew up in the town. My Father is a local Business man in the town. Mother worked at the Local Natwest for years and was the manager for many years. My grandparents on my fathers side had a Taxi business in the town. My grandad on my mothers side was a local publican and grew up in Tavistock & in his later working years worked up at Dartmoor Prison as a officer. My nana is very much involved in the town & is involved very actively in the History Society and Museum, most notably her town shop history research, talks and publishing's.
